Fun At The Park! Athletes For Tots Weekend Summer Camp
Updated: Sep 1, 2025
This past weekend, Athletes For Tots hosted our very first two-day summer event, and we had an absolute blast!
Day 1 (Saturday): Even though the rain moved us indoors, that didn’t stop the fun. Twelve kids joined us, led by eight high-performing teen athletes for a session packed with stretching, Taekwondo kicks, and teamwork games. An especially fun teamwork game included a timed obstacle course that required all kids to work as a team and motivate each other to complete it under the time! They also learned how to set new goals to achieve, even after a previous success by beating their time record each round! Additionally, during the game Capture the Flag, athletes encouraged kids to brainstorm strategies to improve their results. The day ended off with dancing including the famous Cha Cha Slide!
Day 2 (Sunday): We were back outside at Raintree Park with nine kids and five passionate athletes guiding the activities. Kids learned new skills and enjoyed a fun community day in the sun. Parents and athletes agreed — the outdoor session made the experience even more special. A highlight was how the whole family was brought together when kids were learning to play Badminton, parents were eager to spend time with their kids and had so much fun playing together!
Throughout the weekend, kids didn’t just exercise — they learned about the importance of sports: how it builds confidence, friendships, healthy habits, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.
And the feedback? Incredible!
💬 “They enjoyed it so much! I am looking forward to your emails for future events!” – Anonymous Parent
💬 “My kids are sweating now, that’s how it should be.” – Anonymous Parent
💬 “I want to do this again!” – Anonymous Kid
Both athletes and kids said they’re already looking forward to the next Athletes For Tots event — and so are we! This is just the beginning of creating a community where kids can rediscover the fun in sports while being inspired by role models they can truly relate to.
